the food is safe. korea is different from home, but it's not 3rd world. you'll find burgers here and there, lots of places in itaewon (the foreigner area of seoul) to go to. While you are home awaiting your trip, i suggest you start learning the korean alphabet and how to read/pronounce words. go to korean restaurants and try the food. watch korean movies.
